Pipe Repair & Repipe
Fix the failing section, or replace the system when it's time.
Expert Pipe Repair & Repipe
Pipes wear out. Galvanized pipe corrodes from the inside. Polybutylene becomes brittle. Copper develops pinhole leaks. Treasure Valley cold snaps add freeze damage to the list.
We repair individual sections and handle whole-home repipes, usually with PEX. We inspect first and tell you which one your home actually needs.
Signs your pipes need attention
- Low water pressure
- Discolored or rusty water
- Repeated pinhole leaks
- Visible corrosion on exposed pipe
- Gray plastic polybutylene supply lines
- Pipes that have burst or frozen before
- Banging or rattling pipes
What causes pipe failures in Treasure Valley homes
- Galvanized pipe in older homes, which narrows and corrodes with age
- Polybutylene in many homes built from the late 1970s to the mid-1990s
- Hard water mineral scale
- Freezing in crawl spaces, garages, and exterior walls

Pipe Repair & Repipe Questions, Answered
Straight answers from local plumbers who've been working in Nampa and the Treasure Valley since 1960.
Should I worry about frozen pipes in winter?
+
Yes. The Treasure Valley sees cold snaps every winter, and uninsulated pipes in crawl spaces, garages, and exterior walls can freeze. If a frozen pipe bursts, shut off the main and call us at 208.466.3707 — the faster we get there, the less water damage you'll deal with.
What is a whole-home repipe and do I need one?
+
A repipe replaces all the supply piping in your home, usually with PEX. It's the right call if you have polybutylene, failing galvanized, or recurring pinhole leaks. We'll inspect first and tell you straight whether you're at that point.
How much does a whole-house repipe cost?
+
Repipe cost depends on the number of fixtures, the home's layout, access to the walls, and whether drywall patching is included. We provide a written, fixed-price quote after walking through the home so there are no surprises.
Are PEX pipes safe and code-approved in Idaho?
+
Yes. PEX is approved under Idaho's adopted plumbing code and is what we install on nearly every repipe. It resists freezing better than copper, doesn't corrode in hard water, and carries strong manufacturer warranties.
Can you repair a single section of pipe without a full repipe?
+
Often, yes. If we find an isolated failure on otherwise healthy piping, we'll do a spot repair. If the rest of the system is at end of life, we'll tell you honestly so you don't end up paying for the same wall to be opened twice.
How long does a whole-home repipe take?
+
Most single-family repipes are completed in 2–4 working days, depending on the home's size and access. Water is off only when we make the final tie-ins — usually a few hours total, not the whole project.
Will you patch the drywall after a repipe?
+
We can include drywall patching in the scope or leave it to your preferred drywaller — your choice. We'll quote both ways so you can compare and pick what makes sense.
How do I shut off the water if a pipe bursts?
+
Find your main shutoff (often in the garage, basement, or near the water heater) and turn it clockwise until it stops. If you don't have an interior shutoff or it's seized, the meter shutoff at the curb works — most cities require a meter key, but a pair of channel locks will do in a pinch.
What's the difference between PEX-A and PEX-B?
+
Both are approved and used widely. PEX-A is more flexible, can be expanded for fittings (great for tight spaces), and has slightly better burst resistance. PEX-B is more affordable and has a strong long-term track record. We install both and pick based on the job.
How can I keep my pipes from freezing during a cold snap?
+
Disconnect outdoor hoses, leave a slow drip at the farthest interior faucet during single-digit nights, open cabinet doors under sinks on exterior walls, and make sure the crawl space vents are closed. If you've already had a freeze break in the same spot, the long-term fix is insulation, heat tape, or a re-route — happy to take a look.
